Summary: Maybe it’s ahead of it’s time, but I didn’t like it very much.

What I liked: The animation by Matthew Teevan was absolutely amazing. On close ups you could see every little fiber detail and speck. Each of the characters was creative in their own way, but all seem to bring out a little bit of the personality and style of the producer, Tim Burton. Not that there’s anything wrong with that though, because I love his movies.  It was definitely original, and I like a good, original story. I just feel that I would have liked it more if it was drawn on a centimeter high stack of 10’ by 10’ pages with a font the size of walnuts.

Didn't like: Okay, maybe it’s just me, but I found the plot to be sort of vague. And the movie in general was kind of anti-climatic. It had some undercover meanings of hope and rebellion and stuff like that. I won’t get into too much of that just in case you haven’t seen it yet. But the plot is basically that they have to defeat the machines and save the future of civilization. They kind of do that in the end, but in a way that will make you say, “Why didn’t that just happen before?” Maybe the producer and director had this in mind from the start. Making it sort of like an obscure children’s story with more of a message than a story. And that’s okay. It’s just not what I expected.

It was definitely a roller coaster. If that rollercoaster happens to be one you ride right after a hefty dinner. It kept reaching a point where you thought it was over, and that there was nothing else for them to do. But something would always happen, and sometimes it would be something that you didn’t expect; mostly because it wouldn’t be logical. But then again this is a movie starring voodoo doll half robots. It wasn’t a bad movie, so I guess I would recommend seeing it. I just think there were quite a few cons.

Recommend for: I think it would get less interesting the older you get.
