Mandles, Web Kaleidoscope, and Kid Blogger Snakeking
I saw this video commercial for Mandles! at RingtailSquealer, where I think 'The Mrs' got it from collegehumor.com. Whatever, it's funny:
ZeFrank.com always delivers. This time, a virtual Kaliedoscope. Good for wasting at least 10 minutes of your life amusing your eyeballs.
Shout out to 12 year SnakeKing, another Kid Blogger does his thing!

Fantastic Contraption - Fun for the Kid Engineer
Rating (1-5):
Site:www.FantasticContraption.com
Genre: Puzzle/strategy game
The Fantastic Contraption online game is extremely addictive. That is, of course, if you enjoy fun games, that make you think a little. The idea is to move a small ball or square into a ‘goal’ area. You move it be creating a contraption out of wheels, sticks of wood, and paths of water. You can sling, swing, push, pull, flip, create tanks, all sorts of stuff with just a couple of tools. It’s very easy to get started, but you might spend hours on the computer just working away at a contraption at the higher levels (if you don’t cheat and look up the solutions on Youtube). And even when you finish, you can go back and do each level differently! You can save your solutions and send the link to your friends or post them on your website. There's a sample solution in the video below, but the fun is in trying to come up with your own.

OneMusic Virtual Studio - Music Mixing Fun

Reviewed by Nick
OneMusic Virtual Studio
Type of Site: Music Creation
I recently stumbled upon this cool site for making music called OneMusic Virtual Studio. They have many cool tools to make music. They have several cool, easy-to-use multi-track sequencers, with drums, bass, fx, synth, and melody. They have multiple music styles like beat, garage, indie, and hip-hop that you can load. You can even save and send your music creations.
There’s a mixer with instructions to teach you how to mix music. They have a bank of over 1000 samples of music and sounds you can use.
There’s even a game, Escapades, that takes you through the life of someone in the music biz. You can play as an artist, agent, PR person, or manager.
I have had a lot of fun fooling around with them. The site provides links to other music sites and both mixing and songwriting games to help with music or to just entertain you. I personally love listening to and making music.
This site is the best music making site I’ve played on yet, so go check it out. And if you know of other music making sites leave me a comment with the link so I can check them out.

HackQuest - A Website of Fun Mental Challenges

Reviewed by Nick
HackQuest Web Site
Type of Site: Mental Challenges
I found www.hackquest.de in Google. I like this site because it provides very difficult mental challenges that make you think and learn. As you solve each challenge you are given a password, which is used to add points to your ongoing score. (You must be at least 13 to register.)
The challenges are separated into categories. The easiest for beginners is the logic section, because you don’t really have to know much but math and logic. Some of these are word problems, others are just a series of numbers which can be used to arrive at a special number. Here’s the type of riddle or question you might find:
Seven people walk into a square room which has no windows.
They found a dead man who had clearly hung himself from the ceiling, but they couldn't figure out how he did it.
There was no chair or table that he might of jumped off.
The only thing there was a puddle of water.
How did he do it?
Answer: He stood on a block of ice, which eventually melted.
Other challenge categories help introduce you to computer concepts, like programming, JavaScript, etc. to complete the challenge. For example, there was one challenge in a JavaScript category, where I had to look at the source code of the webpage to find the password. It’s really cool. (To view the source code of this page, click ‘View’ on your browser menu, and scrolldown to ‘Source’; you’ll see what I mean.)
There are forums for members to share ideas about each puzzle, but no one gives the answers, just hints. Some of the puzzles are really tricky, so if you’re a quitter don’t join Hackquest. The challenge selection screen shows you how many people have completed it, so you can see which ones are hard or easy. I get frustrated with many of the puzzles, but I love it when I solve one. If you like mental challenges, give it a try.
